This is a hate letter to United airlines (sarcastic)

Delayed flights, Lorde, and my wishlist

The Weekly Crumbs

Hi friends! I’m piloting a new program, “The Weekly Crumbs”. Just lil sparks of joy I found in my daily life. Let me know if you enjoy (or not!) I’m writing to you in the Boise airport after my United flight has been delayed. Seven hours. We boarded, waited for repairs, and eventually had to deplane. Le sigh. I wasn’t compensated financially, but they did provide a $15 meal voucher. I guess it could be worse? Tell me:

On my plate

I realized my camera roll is pretty much all photos of Aspen and the breakfasts I’ve made. However, this past week, Amanda and I tried this Bon Appetit recipe and it was really good! We didn’t grill the pork chop, we baked them. We also boiled the marinade down into a sauce and it was chef’s kiss. Added a bag of frozen veggies to eat with it and bon appetit—literally!

On my big screen

This week I have been leaning HARD into rewatching Bones. And it’s been truly fabulous—so comfortable. Caleb hates it (lol) but I persevere! Although, Amanda has been encouraging me to finish Sex and the City so we can watch the movies together and start watching Broad City for the first time. So I’m feeling the pull to explore something new, but life has felt chaotic so I’m leaning toward a safety show. I will ponder this decision in my heart and update you later.

On my phone

MEMES! NUFF SAID.

  1. This one is a lot funnier if you click into the video, I promise.

  1. Shrek, always. Friends who cry (and laugh) together, stay together. I don’t make the rules.

In my earbuds

Ok. OK! So in the future I anticipate that this will be a podcast that I’ve been listening to. But since Amanda has shown me the light of how amazing the Spotify “Daylist” is, I’ve discovered “Disco Man” by Remi Wolf. PLEASEEEEE add this to your playlist ASAP if you don’t have it already!! (I am likely the last person to ever hear this song. But still, I needed to PSA it.)

Yeah he get it, yeah he get it
We got drunk I don't regret it

Said that he's a disco man
And he's got a lot of fiscal plans
And I told him he could kiss my hand
If ya meet me at the disco, disco

If you see me driving in my car like this, no you didn’t. I’m listening to Disco Man.

On my bookshelf

I just wrapped up “Honestly I’m Totally Faking It” by Amanda Gambill which was -amazing-. Now, I’m reading “Assassin’s Apprentice” by Robin Hobb, which is quite heavy on world-building. It’s taking me a while to get into (not a page-turner, so far, like HITFI) but I can tell it will be good! I’m definitely craving some mysteries/thrillers as we go into fall though.

In my head

I’ve had this specific Lorde song stuck in my head ALL week. I mean??? It’s such a low-key bop. This is exactly how I dance to it in my car. Please take this with a grain of salt, as I am the person who first discovered Cherub’s “Doses and Mimosas” in 2017 and I’m still obsessed with it.

No shirt, no shoes, only my features
My boy behind me, he's taking pictures
Lead the boys and girls onto the beaches
Come one, come all, I'll tell you my secrets
I'm kinda like a prettier Jesus (aah-aah-aah-aah)

Blink three times when you feel it kicking in
That solar-olar-olar power
Solar-olar-olar power
Solar-olar-olar power
Solar-olar-olar power
Solar-olar-olar power
Solar-olar-olar power

In my cart

These specific pants from Pact Organic and this specific hoodie from Gap. I know I was advertised the pants (Pact’s ‘Airplane Pants’) because I’m currently at the airport, but still. So cozy!!! And a hoodie is cozy with no explanation. I realized, I have only one slightly too small hoodie and that’s a grave error on my end. I was in a big crewneck phase but now, it’s all hoodies all the time! I need all the cozy stuff before it starts getting chilly here!!
